Company: SDS Petroleum Consultants

Job Type: Full-Time

About SDS Petroleum Consultants

SDS Petroleum Consultants provides technical and operational support to leading  E&P operators across North America. Our team ensures cost transparency, vendor  accountability, and operational integrity across all phases of the oilfield lifecycle — from bid to invoice.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented, driven Procurement & Cost Control Analyst to  manage and streamline cost tracking for field operations. In this role, you’ll be the  central point of contact between vendor pricing, operational execution, and financial  accuracy. From frac chemicals to rental equipment, every dollar counts — and your  job is to make sure it’s accounted for properly.

What You’ll Do

• Own the bid-to-bill process: Maintain and update vendor bid files, pricing sheets,  and contracts.

• Track daily field costs: Review drilling, completions, and frac reports to confirm  field entries match actual services performed.

• Validate field tickets: Cross-check quantities (e.g., gallons, days, hours) against  contracted rates.

• Audit invoices before payment: Ensure all billing aligns with bid terms and  approved field tickets.

• Resolve discrepancies with vendors: Address issues with overbilling, errors, or  incorrect rates — without burdening operations.

• Confirm vendor time on location: Match dates, hours, and activities with rig logs  and reports.

• Allocate charges correctly: Work with accounting to assign costs to the  appropriate AFE and GL codes.

• Generate post-job reports: Deliver summaries of costs, variances, and key  takeaways to management and clients.

• Maintain strong vendor relationships: Ensure all billing changes or disputes are  documented professionally and thoroughly.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in oilfield services, preferably in drilling, completions, or  hydraulic fracturing.

• Familiarity with vendor bid structures, cost control, and procurement workflows. • Experience in job costing, invoice reconciliation, or financial audits. • Confident communicator able to resolve billing issues directly with vendors. • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (filters, pivot tables, basic formulas). • Highly organized with an eye for detail; able to interpret job logs and rig reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with OpenInvoice, WellView, or similar platforms. • Knowledge of AFE coding, service category allocation, and general ledger  workflows.

Why Join SDS Petroleum Consultants?

Be part of a fast-moving, respected oilfield consulting firm with a commitment to  accuracy and transparency. Gain visibility across operations, finance, and vendor  management. Play a key role in improving cost control and operational efficiency.
