RENE’ STOVALL

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

With over 20 years of experience in executive management positions and a degree in business administration, Rene skillfully manages SDS Petroleum Consultants.

As Executive Vice President, she ensures the smooth operation of the firm with her robust knowledge of office management, bookkeeping, and daily operations skills. She is responsible for hiring an office staff that can process the growing amount of work accurately and efficiently.

Rene a track record of strong performance in high-pressure environments which makes her an integral part of the SDS team.

SCOTT STOVALL

PRESIDENT

Scott is an East Texas native who started SDS Petroleum Consultants in 1999. It was his dream then, and remains his goal now, to provide businesses in the energy sector with the best consultants available. The success of the company to date is due in no small part to the entrepreneurial spirit Scott developed through years working in the energy business. It is his keen understanding of the type of people needed in today’s energy environment that drives the company’s success. SDS Petroleum Consultants contracts with the best leaders available. As a result, his staff follows the same discipline when providing consultants to SDS clients. The end result is a company that has grown from a single client in 1999 to a recognized leader in the field, providing consultants to more than 130 companies working throughout the oil and gas sector across the entirety of North America.

JEREMY MARTIN

VP of Engineering

In his career, Jeremy worked his way through the engineering ranks from wellsite supervisor to drilling superintendent. He developed a reputation for consistently delivering wells on time and under budget while maintaining some of the highest safety standards in the industry. His engineering experience ranges from the Gulf of Mexico Shelf HTHP wells to horizontal wells in the Cotton Valley, Haynesville, Eagleford, Eaglebine, James Lime, and Tuscaloosa Marine Shale.   His strong engineering experience gives him the ability to handle well planning and drilling operations in any place in the US. Jeremy loves the challenge of drilling wells and enjoys the “teamwork” aspect of the process the most. His people skills and knowledge allow him to keep team members focused on the task at hand and get the job done! He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

DALE NACE

VP of Operations

Dale began his career in 1992 at the field level and has worked his way to Vice President of Operations. Dale has extensive knowledge and experience in horizontal, directional, and vertical well drilling. He has drilled HTHP wells, extended reach laterals, and is familiar with all types of drilling fluids, down-hole tools, and drilling techniques. As the supervisor of a 10-rig operation, Dale cut costs and streamlined the drilling process while maintaining a safe working environment.   Dale also manages the completion / production side of operations; a vast knowledge of all operational aspects allows adaptability to the challenges at hand and produces incredible results. Dale is a proven leader, molded through experience. His professionalism and mentoring skills make him an excellent asset to any program.

 

DALE NACE

Donnie has 40 years of oil field experience, 32 of which have been with the same company. He has been a part of the evolution of industry practices and standards from the “hands-on” viewpoint of rig-based drilling foreman to that of making decisions from a corporate level. Donnie’s unique background has resulted in his involvement in over 2,000 wells in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. His drilling experience includes everything from vertical SWD to horizontal wells in the Cotton Valley, Haynesville Shale, and James Lime. He has also overseen location construction, site remediation, workover, and completion operations. Donnie has mentored many young engineers and has people skills that make him a pleasure to have as a productive part of the team. He still loves the challenge involved in the process of drilling.

KEN GOOLSBY

Chief Financial Officer

Ken began serving as the Chief Financial Officer for SDS Petroleum Consultants in June of 2018. Ken brings over 40 years of financial sector work experience including roles as a controller, business owner, risk manager and consultant. Ken started his career in 1972 as the Controller for Marshall Pottery. After earning his CPA certification in 1977, Ken utilized the knowledge and experience gained to enter the field of public accounting where he has provided tax, financial and accounting services to clients ranging from individuals to multi-million dollar companies seeking assistance with simple financial record keeping issues to complex tax and accounting matters. Throughout his career Ken has worked for oil and gas clients. He has developed a robust understanding of the financial intricacies and business models used in the industry. Ken has steered SDS financially during our rapid growth into one of the largest and most successful consulting firms in the United States. Ken received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University in 1972. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 1971. Ken is married and the father of 2 adult children. Ken is also very involved in the East Texas community, serving on the boards of several charities as well as donating his time and money to those in need of assistance. Ken is an East Texas native, born in Centerville, he has called Marshal home a majority of his life. Ken’s addition enhances the entire SDS organization. His expertise will balance SDS’ aggressive business plan with a conservative financial philosophy ensuring SDS’ continued growth and stability for years to come.

WYATT HALLIDAY

VP of Business Solutions

Wyatt brings over 20 years of Contract Drilling experience to the SDS team. He started his career in procurement with Nabors Drilling in Lafayette, LA before accepting a Marketing and Contracts position in 2005. Following a move to Denver, Wyatt expanded his client base into the Rockies by building his reputation through responsiveness and attention to detail. In 2007, he accepted a position with Pioneer Drilling Company, expanding his responsibilities into Mid-Con and South Texas. In 2013 he was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing, extending his territory to include Pioneer’s operations in Appalachia and West Texas. After gaining valuable experience in every major U.S. basin, Wyatt was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2019. His duties included all major contract negotiations, building strategic initiatives, budgeting, and risk management. Wyatt resides in San Antonio, TX with his wife Jenn, and their three children.

ELIZABETH WALKER

Executive Assistant | Operations

Elizabeth joined our team in August of 2018 after graduating from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. She considers herself a Tyler native, having lived there since 2002. Prior to joining our team, she worked in the hospitality and service industries at various establishments in the area. She is an integral part of the SDS Operations team, serving as Executive Assistant, Operations, and Business Development. Her roles and responsibilities at SDS are vast, as she often serves as an intermediary between the Administrative and Operations departments. She is dynamic in her responsibilities, which can change at a moment’s notice. Some of her responsibilities include generating and updating resumes sent and received for current and future consultants. She is the point of contact for vendor relations, handles invoicing for project management, and is involved in the negotiation and completion of MSAs and other legal contracts. She also tracks and records data and information as it pertains to the company as well as the Oil and Gas Industry. Her ability to learn and adapt to the constantly growing needs and success of the company makes her an essential part of the team. She looks forward to being a part of the continued growth and success of SDS Petroleum Consultants.

BRAD HUNSUCKER

Drilling Engineer

Brad Hunsucker is a highly skilled and results-driven oil and gas engineer with extensive experience in various aspects of drilling and well operations. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, Brad has made significant contributions throughout his career as a drilling engineer, production engineer, and wells engineer.

As a production engineer, Brad was responsible for optimizing production and identifying opportunities for improvement. He led day-to-day field operations, managed LOE budgets, and delivered AFE estimates. His proactive approach to production optimization helped maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Brad also played a critical role on a well integrity team tasked with identifying, evaluating, and remediating problem wellbores in the Gulf Coast Region. He coordinated surveillance plans that included over 400 temperature surveys per year and assessed wellbore integrity for future field development plans. His expertise in wellbore treatments and stimulations, as well as his experience with P&A and TA operations, helped ensure the success of the project.

As a drilling engineer, Brad has designed safe and cost-effective drilling procedures for CO2 environments and planned and executed intercept wells using passive and active ranging tools. His experience in new drill design, completion and re-completion design, artificial lift design and installation, and downhole risk assessment has helped him successfully execute numerous projects from concept to finished product. He has also performed post-well analysis to identify areas for improvement in performance and costs. Brad is a great addition to SDS Petroleum Consultants and will bring his team-oriented and results-driven approach to SDS.

TOM BAILEY

Completion Manager

Tom’s career began with Halliburton in 1974. During his 32-year tenure with Halliburton, Tom developed a particular expertise in the areas of cased hole stimulation, completion operations, and fracturing design. Proficient in all aspects of on-site well management, Tom spent 4 years in New Mexico for Halliburton as the manager of HRM and TCP Facilities. In addition to managing on-site crews, he is accomplished in the areas of field design and execution for stimulation, acid, casing, and completion operations. Tom worked on all product lines as an account leader and technical advisor. After leaving Halliburton in 2006, he managed the completion operations for 14 rigs in the Haynesville Shale for EOG Resources.

TOM BAILEY

Completion Manager

Tom’s career began with Halliburton in 1974. During his 32-year tenure with Halliburton, Tom developed a particular expertise in the areas of cased hole stimulation, completion operations, and fracturing design. Geologist

Matthew completed his Masters of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2009 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in geology in 2005. His academic achievements are important contributors to the success he enjoys as a contract geologist with geo-steering experience in Haynesville, Bossier, Utica, Eagleford Shale, Cotton Valley Sand, and Mississippi Lime. He has been responsible for the geology on up to 4 wells at a time, mapping and analyzing formation hazards and depths, detailed log analyses, and well planning and drilling and completion procedures throughout the East Texas and Louisiana.

Ken has over 45 years of experience ranging from wrenching rods on a workover rig to managing a multi-jackup operation in West Africa. His expertise and experience have allowed him the opportunity to oversee location construction on every terrain imaginable, including desert, jungle, mountain, and open plains. His highly developed interpersonal skills ensure every job is conducted smoothly and efficiently. He has worked with all types of well geometry and BHA / Bit configurations, and has worked on high-pressure / high-temperature wells and most types of drilling fluids.

TREY HUGHEY

VP Business Development

Trey Hughey is a proud East Texas native and third generation oilman. After graduating from the University of Texas, Trey moved back to Tyler to work for Eiche Mapes. He gained a wealth of experience and knowledge working as an independent landman where he ran title, negotiated oil and gas leases, as well as mineral and royalty purchasing. Trey later joined Tucker Energy Services, a family owned oil field completion company, with operations in eight countries. He served as a multi-product line salesman, offering stimulation, cased-hole wireline, and coiled tubing services. During his time at Tucker, Trey was able to build strong, dedicated, and mutually beneficial relationships in East Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. While at Tucker, the company experienced rapid growth. Prior to his arrival, Tucker fielded one fleet. During Trey’s time with the company four fleets were working at all times. Tucker was sold to Calgary based STEP Energy Services and Trey opted to join the SDS team. His primary focus at SDS will be on the completion side of the oil and gas industry. He is highly involved in the Society of Petroleum Engineers in the East Texas chapter. When he’s not working, Trey loves spending time with his wife, Dana, and their three children.

ERIC JOHNSON

Account Manager

Eric joined the SDS team in February of 2018 as an Account Manager. Eric is tasked to utilize his vast West Texas network to strengthen SDS’ position in the Permian and Delaware Basins. Eric began his oilfield career roughnecking for Hondo Drilling in 1974. In 1981 Eric was pushing tools for Hondo in West Texas and did so until 1994 at which time he became the Safety Director for Hondo. Eric worked with Hondo until 1996 when it was purchased by Patterson UTI. Eric remained on with Patterson working as the Safety Director until 2010. After 36 years with Hondo/Patterson Eric joined TC Consulting and its affiliated companies as their Consulting Manager. Here Eric recruited consultants, placed contractors, wrote AFE’S, wrote drilling programs, and managed 15 to 25 independent contractors. Eric is a Native of West Texas and extremely knowledgeable of the drilling environment of the Permian Basin as well as the techniques and tools utilized. SDS has positioned itself for phenomenal growth in West Texas with the addition of Eric Johnson.

Rocky Wilks was Born and Raised in Memphis Tx. He began his oil field Career in 2007 working for an established independent consulting firm. During his tenure, Rocky became the H.S.E Director and eventually worked his way into the Sales Dept. In 2014, Rocky became the Marketing Director for a major oil and gas consulting firm in Bridgeport TX. After accepting a promotion with RWDY Inc. out of Shreveport LA., Rocky Joined the SDS Petroleum Consultant Team in June of 2020 as an Account Manager. He is assigned to the Permian Basin office in Midland Tx and has customer account’s in almost every oil and gas play in the lower 48 states.

Account Manager

Steven began his oilfield career with Baroid as a mud engineer, eventually working his way up to fluids tech overseeing multiple rigs for multiple operators. He then took a position as Sales Account Manager with Sierra Engineering in 2011. During his tenure at Sierra he worked to place contractor personnel covering many roles for numerous operators.

Beginning as a floorhand, Brandon’s relentless work ethic propelled him through the ranks, evolving into roles such as Derrickman, Driller, and eventually, a seasoned Drilling Consultant. In his most recent role, Brandon served as the Business Development Manager before ascending to the position of Vice President of Operations at a distinguished firm. His strategic vision and leadership prowess played pivotal roles in shaping the success and growth of the organization.
